The Music Department welcomes all members of the Keene State community – faculty, staff, and students – to participate in its ensembles. Music majors and minors are required to perform in large and small ensembles. All KSC students, regardless of academic major, are eligible to participate in any performing ensemble. An audition is required for some ensembles.

Registration note: Students may register for ensembles for either 0 or 1 credits. With online registration, you must indicate whether you’re taking an ensemble for credit by marking a ‘1’ in the ‘credits’ box. Otherwise, the system defaults to zero credits.
Performance attire: All members of department ensembles are required to wear appropriate performance attire. Please see the ensemble director early in the semester for instructions on what is appropriate for the ensemble. Students identifying as male, who participate in band, choir, and orchestra, will need to purchase a black tuxedo and black shoes. Previously rented tuxedos can be purchased at reduced cost at most formal wear stores.
