Keene State Opera Workshop is a sequential class that encourages classical singing actors to find their true voice and physicality on stage.

Fondly nicknamed “OpShop,” our program is the only college in New England linked to the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD in Schools initiative.

Typically, fall semesters focus on building skills in Monologues, Songs, Arias, and Scenes from all periods. Spring semesters typically focus on a single opera project,which is performed not only for the public but in local schools.

Recent full productions include Fairy QueenBrundibarVenus and Adonis, and The Little Sweep in collaboration with The Colonial Theatre’s “Operatunity” program.
